This Rio Linda bathroom was ready for a change. It had an old tiled tub with a sliding glass door, an oak vanity and cabinet, and a look that hadn’t been updated in years. Stepping over a tub wall every day isn’t easy for everyone, so the plan was to make the room simpler and safer to use.
What we did
We tore out the old tub and tile down to the framing. In its place we installed a white walk-in shower with built-in shelves, a handheld shower head and a grab bar. Then we laid a new gray tile floor and finished the room with a new gray vanity with a white top, a modern mirror and a three-light fixture over the sink.
The result
The bathroom feels bigger and brighter, and getting in and out of the shower is a lot easier. Compare the before and after photos and you can see how much the space changed.
