Decks, Balconies & Handrails in Sacramento County
A good deck becomes part of everyday life: morning coffee, family dinners, and kids running out to the yard. Ridgeway Construction Inc is a family-owned contractor based in Rio Linda. We’ve built and rebuilt decks, balconies, stairs and handrails across Sacramento County and the surrounding areas. Owner Michael Ridgeway has over 25 years of carpentry experience and treats every project like a piece of craftsmanship, not just a job.
New Decks Built Around Your Home
We build decks in the material that fits your style and budget:
Redwood, for timeless natural beauty
Trex, for durability and low upkeep
TimberTech, for a clean, modern look
Ipe, for a rich hardwood finish
We’ve built ground-level decks off sliding and French doors, raised and elevated decks on sloped lots, wraparound decks, and long backyard decks with more than one set of stairs. Railings range from classic wood to black metal and aluminum.
Deck Repair, Resurfacing & Rebuilds
Not every deck needs to be torn out. When the frame is still sound, we can replace weathered boards and worn railings. When it isn’t, we rebuild it right. We also rebuild front porches, entry landings and exterior stairs.
Handrails & Ramp Railings
Safe, solid handrails matter, especially at entries and ramps. We’ve built custom redwood handrails, including curved rails that follow an elevated entry ramp, plus stair rails in wood and metal.
Homeowners & Property Managers
We work with homeowners and property management companies. Mike is involved in each project, and our customers say we keep them in the loop from estimate to final walkthrough.
Areas we serve: Rio Linda, Elverta, North Highlands, Antelope, Sacramento, and surrounding areas in Sacramento County.

FAQ
What decking materials do you work with?
Redwood, Trex, TimberTech and Ipe. We’ll walk you through the look and upkeep of each so you can choose what fits your home.
Can you fix my old deck instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. We've resurfaced weathered decks with new boards and replaced railings. If the framing is damaged, we'll show you what we find and talk through a rebuild.
Do you build handrails for ramps and front steps?
Yes. We build custom redwood handrails, including curved ramp rails, as well as wood and metal handrails for porches and exterior stairs.
