Deck Dry Rot Repair & Repaint in Rio Linda, CA

Dry rot on a deck doesn't always start big. At this Rio Linda home, it showed up in a few spots on the covered patio deck, the kind of thing that's easy to put off until a board finally gives.

What we did

We cut out the rotted deck boards and replaced them with new lumber. New wood next to old, weathered boards always stands out, so we repainted the entire deck to tie everything together. While we were there, we also took care of some work on the front porch.

The result

The deck is solid underfoot again, and with the fresh paint, you'd have a hard time picking out which boards are new. The covered patio is ready to enjoy again.

A quick dry rot tip

Walk your deck after a rain. Boards that feel spongy, look darker than the rest, or hold water are worth checking before the rot spreads to the boards around them or the framing underneath. A small repair now is a lot easier than a rebuild later.

We're a family-owned, licensed general contractor (CSLB #1083145) right here in Rio Linda, with more than 25 years of carpentry experience. Decks and dry rot are two of the things we do most.
